YOU KNOW IT, WHEN YOU LOOK LIKE SHIT.

Don’t worry~ It’s not a post to dress ugly people down.
It’s a post to help boys and girls save money! =D
When i was 17, i look like shit. No pictures to show, if you’re not convinced becox i look quite decent now (SHUTUP I DONT CARE WHAT YOU THINK) and plus you’re free enough, go check out my archives. Haha. I LOOKED LIKE SHIT.
But I thought i was chio. And i head out very often. Eat Long John Silver also must eat in town area. It just seemed more cool. Lol. I know you know what i mean right.. Haha!
And please don’t say that i am also thinking that i am very chio now but will come to realise in five years time that i’m actually ugly. I am an adult now, i don’t make visual mistakes like this anymore. HAHAHA!
Anyway, to get to town area, young girls like me back then have to get pass this area of SELF-DOUBT and SELF-WORTHY area. This area is right there once you step out of Orchard MRT.
“Hi! I’m from XXX models”
“Would you be keen in modeling?”
“You are very tall! Are you a model?”
“We’re looking for models for an advertisement”
“We have a modeling assignment now that needs girls like you”
“Are you local? Becox you look like Eurasian/ Korean/ Japanese/ Taiwanese”
“Don’t worry, not all models need to be tall, you are not very tall but you got the look for print-ads”
And in your heart, you start asking yourself, “Oh wow.. I’m really that good? How can i be that good? Or maybe i am that good? Bleah, it’s not possible.. Well, maybe it is?”
GIRLS, C’MON, you know what you look like. If you’re pretty, good for you, don’t be flattered by random folk running after you on the street telling you you are pretty. If you’re pretty, be confident, you don’t need to buy this shit, just tell the bugger,
“YEAH I KNOW, i am as perfect as you say. Why do i need you then?”
AND WALK AWAY.
Trust me, the poor dude will not chase after you even if you have the talent and caliber of a TOPESTEST SUPEREST model.
Why? Simply becox these fuckers are not out for talent-hunting. They are out for the weak-minded girls and boys with MONEY. In short, they are out for whoever has the MONEY.
And if you’re not that good looking, YOU KNOW IT. Okay. Yeah all the stories about ugly-duckling to beautiful swan, chubby pig to pork ribs, whatever. It will happen if you work on it. Buying cosmetics and plastic surgeries will do the job but buying compliments won’t bring you there. It’d just make you more insecure than you could ever be.
I am going to bring you through what’s gonna happen if you believe the sweet-talkers at the train station.
They gonna take your number and might call you on the spot to make sure that that IS your number, make an appointment with you to meet at their office. And climax of praises that’s gonna be sang for you, is when you’re finally at their office.
There they will have plenty of fashion magazines and plenty of newspaper cutouts, they are going to tell you all the great thing you will be if you sign up the package to be part of them. Then they’d talk about money. And if you’re skeptical about paying, they’d pull out pictures of their models whom appeared on various media.
Assuming YOU ARE DUMB, becox you were already dumb enough to even go to their office, i can safely say you won’t know which agencies the top models in Singapore are attached to. You won’t know if they are even attached to any or if they are self-managed.
So the money-eater can tell you Rebecca Tan used to be managed by them, showing you pictures of Rebecca Tan on cover, print-ads, TVC screenshots etc. And you’d buy the story becox you know Rebecca Tan! Who doesn’t! Even if you don’t know her name, you must have seen her face somewhere.
And becox you’re so doped on praises, you’d think that the guy who’s been showering you with compliments for the past one hour, cannot be lying to you about such stuff. Somemore if he don’t know her, why keep so many pictures of her, right!
I am quoting Rebecca Tan as example for a specific reason, will share why later.
Then you’d be convinced.
“If he can bring her up there, and he sees so much in me, i can make it too!”

NO YOU CANNOT.
Not becox you can’t. It’s becox he cannot bring you there. Becox you’re in the wrong place. Becox you’re too naive.
What’s gonna happen next is, they gonna show you a list of packages. It will all differ by the number of images/ looks/ styles you gonna be photographed in, number of pictures, sizes of pictures, whether or not your ‘comp card’ and portfolio will appear in their office/ website respectively, whether or not you wanna sign up for their courses to modelling.
It can range from $288 – $2888 (the higher price range is usually what they call, ARTISTE price. Meaning if you pay the premium price, they gonna groom and market you as a model-artiste and pitch you for hosting/ singing/ acting gigs). These days the price might be a lot different, not sure.
Truth to be told, i used to buy these compliment. In fact, I BOUGHT it with $6 and $348 on two separate occasions.
I can mention names becox whatever i’m gonna write are just based on real-life account of what i encountered before. I have no idea if they have changed the way they work now, but this is what i went through when i was 17 turning 18. And the convo is obviously, to what i can remember best.
I was approached at the self-worthy area numerous times. And this one time, i started to believe that it could be true! Since so many times people have been approaching me, i must be really up to it, right?! So i agreed to go to the agency office for a talk.
My first encounter was with 我-models international. They are not “我-models” but i don’t wanna get into trouble so you go figure out. They might be a better agency now, since i just went to check their website, and under “Projects”, they do have some decent folio to show. So i am not saying anything about them NOW, i am talking about what happened about 6 years ago.
This is where i spoke with a guy, let’s just call him Mr A.
He seemed REALLY nice, composed and professional. So it goes.
First phase, lasted 15mins, throw compliments at me like mad, like it’s all free.
“Your features are very sharp and defined, photographers love to shoot this kind of faces the most.”
“Wow, you are very tall. That’s great we can put you in runway shows.”
“Many girls are pretty but they don’t have the X-factor. But you’re different, you have this charisma that people will take notice of.”
“Hang on, let me show you which model you remind me of”
HE TURNED BACK AND PULL OUT REBECCA TAN’S COVER on some wedding magazine.
“Do you know her?”
I said no but i’ve seen her on various ads.
“Yes, she’s my friend. I wanted to get her onboard but she ah, tsk, go and sign with another agency before that. But she’s keen, she wants to join us but you know, all the contract problem and all, very complicated. But we’re working it out.”
“Anyway your style and charisma is like hers, very quiet, very cool. You have this edge on your face when you don’t smile and just sits there. But when you smile, it gives you another image. Very healthy, clean and approachable. I call that commercial value. And you have that.”
OH REALLY?  WHY AM I BLOGGING NOW EARNING MY BUCKS INSTEAD? Lololol!!! Why am i not modelling?! Why am i blogging shit about you now??? MR A!!! Why??? ANSWER ME! WHY AM I NOT ON COVER PAGE?!?!?! Photographers like my face, no?!?! Lolol!
Anyway, A spent the next 30 mins trying to get me to pay a down payment of minimum $100 for a $288 (the lowest) package. He finally gave up when i say i only have $11 cash with me and my bank has no money becox my pay hasn’t come in yet.
So GUESS WHAT? He didn’t let me go! Of course he cao bin (show smelly-face) me after i make that confession but NO, he didn’t let me go. He ask me how much can i pay if that’s the case.
?!?!?!??!?!??! So hard up! So i had no choice but to do my calculation.
I figured out of $11, i need $2 to get home, $3 to have a meal if i don’t order iced-milo.
I’d still have $6.
And for $6, i got a slip of receipt that states a balance of $282 if i ever choose to go back for the $288 package.
And i never went back, not becox i didn’t want to be a top model, but i was just too paiseh to go back becox the last time i left, there was no smile on A’s face. It was just.. That LJ bin, no smile, no approachable feelings. NOCOMMERCIAL VALUE. Lol.
So couple of months down, there’s this day i feel hopeful, again.
I was ‘scouted’ at Ochard Road MRT by Create Talent and they got lucky. I bought their compliments and went to the office, signed a $288 package even after all the pushing for higher value packages.
Same thing here, they might be doing better now. But I DON’T CARE, i’m talking about back then.
And included in the $288 package i was supposed to have pictures for a glamour look and a casual look. I was told to prepare for my own outfit for casual look becox they want to showcase my REAL personality better. And turn out, the glamour look was a bridal gown -.-”
Before makeup, i was asked if i wanna use this ampoule-like thing, say it’s for my face to absorb the makeup better, if not i will look cakey and yellow on the pictures. So obviously, i said, yes. AND IT COST $35.
No choice right? I already spent $288, i don’t wanna look like a jaundice patient on the loose!!! Who would have knew they so fucked up, don’t know photoshop??? I know about photoshop when i was 19, use it when i was 20 going 21. But that’s becox i am a outsider! They are supposed to be professional in this line, CANNOT HELP ME PHOTOSHOP MEH?!
During makeup, i realise the lady who sold me the package was also the photographer -.-
Finally, i was asked if i wanna put on fake eye lash if not i’d look asleep and 沒有精神 (no energy) in the pictures.
So i said yes! Why would i want pictures of me looking lethargic?!
$25 for a pair, ONE PAIR, ONE okay, O, N, E, ONE.
ONE FUCKING PAIR of eyelashes for $25!!! Top quality, she said.
So all in all, i paid $348 for these lovely pictures. I DIDN’T PHOTOSHOP ANYTHING EXCEPT pulling back the colour to what it look like on the printouts.
Photobucket
This is the casual wear i was wearing that day.
Nb the $25 eyelashes didn’t make me look more awake leh?!?!?
Photobucket
Hi, i am 17, but i look like 37 and have pointy hip bones.
Photobucket
Okay this one nothing to complain about since.. I got megawatt smile like naturally lol.
But she could have at least liquify my face.
Photobucket
Hi! I am a overseas bride for sale! SHIP ME OVER!!! =DDD
Stupid photographer don’t even have the decency to tidy up my hair line.
Photobucket
Wish i weren’t there..
Photobucket
THE “BAM, CONFIDENT LADY” pose.
Look at my fingers! I had babyfats!
And Create Talent only called me once for casting, that’s after 9 months or so after the photoshoot, say it’s for a sports branding. I went. Obviously didn’t get the job.
One year plus touching two years after the call for the sports branding, they called again. I was actually a bit disturbed why they still have my number, does it mean they still have my pictures? OH NO. Lol. So i told them to please strike me out of their list. And don’t have to call me for casting like this even thou it’s only ONCE IN A FUCKING BLUE moon they call.
Actually i’m writing this becox i’ve got too many emails/ fb msg from random girls asking about whether i think they can be models cox a certain agency approached them. And when i ask them, which agency is that? It’s always “我” or “Create Talent”.
If that’s not bad enough, my own friends call / text me before to ask about both “我” and “create talent”. Just one month plus ago my guy friend say he was approached by Create Talent. He told me what they offer him seems very promising, but it’s $800 plus that he has to pay. And my sister’s friend, a 40 over year old lady, was approached too. And she was asked to pay $400 plus to join their database of talents and do up a basic portfolio for TV series, TVC and printads etc.
“HAHA”, I just summed it up.
I’d always tell random girls what i think of these agencies, since they asked. But i’d also tell them to think of it the logical way.
Do you see big players like Diva, Phantom, Looque, Mannequin, Avenue, Carries etc, DO YOU SEE THEM HUNTING YOU DOWN on the street?
No. They are managing their resources in air-conditioned rooms.
And their resources are models and jobs. NOT models’ own money.
But for the rest who pound on you like vultures at the MRT station, their resources is your money, and that’s about all.
Think about it. ARE YOU REALLY THAT GOOD?
I don’t mean anything else but a question.
ARE YOU REALLY THAT GOOD? If yes, go do up your folio with TFCD (please find decent ones) and approach reputable agencies to join them. From there you will get jobs if you are, like you think, good. Then you can update your portfolio with actual printads and editorial spreads in magazines! ^.^ JIAYOU!
If you’re not that confident/ good-looking, you can still try! I do think previous modeling experience helped me a great deal in being more confident today. I also believe in making things happen. If you want it enough, you might just have it =)) Like me! I never know what was in store for me when i started blogging, but it turned out good! ^.^
You can be anything, but who are you going to do it with, and how are you getting there?
Talking about believing that you can be anything if you put your heart to it, I just found something interesting. Create Talent also agrees that you can be anything! They even have a website to tell you not to believe in online rumours about them! It’s call createtalentsscam.
I quote from that site “99% of whom we scouted had successfully received jobs and gained so much more”
I must be the sway-lao-sai 1% ='(
BUT YES I DID GAIN A LOT FROM THEM;
I LEANRT NEVER TO BUY SUCH CRAP AGAIN! ^.^
No offense, just speaking from a consumer’s point of view. Since it’s as if they are positioning themselves as a product for sale more than being an agency that’s representing their talents/ models.
But anyway, if everyone can be top-models, who’s gonna be the receptionist? Who’s gonna serve us food? Who’s gonna attend to the passenger in-flight? WHO, IS GOING TO STAND BESIDE CARS WEARING SKIMPY CLOTHES and POSE FOR UNCLES WITH DSLRs? Huh? These people are ALL, NOT models, but they are still making a living, and it’s not by being a model, and it’s fine. Hahaha!
And you know it, when you look like shit. You also know it if you look great. You don’t need to be bought over by insincere compliments. Importantly, don’t pay for it.
You are the best person to compliment yourself =D
FREE SOME MORE!
CONFIDENCE is the best makeup, following by a great smile! And i just read Xiaxue’s blog about her invisalign. I WANT TO SAVE $$ TO DO!!!
Oh and and, people who keep accusing you of being OVER-confident, don’t give a shit to that. LOL. Becox i used to bitch about girls who’re OBVIOUSLY OVER-confident. I’d be like “EEeeee. SHE THINK SHE VERY PRETTY?!” BAM! Retribution.
NOTE: All comments here (except my own) do not reflect my own opinion on the agencies of which i shared my experiences about, and i neither confirm or deny the suggestions for the names of the agency people have commented.

Personal Website is Necessary For Models to Get Exposure in Fashion World

Now a day, there is a tough competition in fashion industries for male and female models who wants to make their career in modeling. Aspiring models who has enough talent and beautiful face are still not getting much more exposure because of so many reason.
Some of them are
1) They are not getting much more peoples attention or get limited attention which will bound their progress
2) They are keeping modeling as a part time business which does not attract modeling agency and talent agency
3) They do not bother regarding their online presence through making their modeling website or modeling portfolio.
In today's world, male and female models small mistake or quite laziness throws out from fashion worlds. It's a nature of people who always want new face in front of them but for models, it's a creating lot of competition for them. So the question is how can they get more popularity and people's attention? The answer is that they need to give much more important on their online presence. Ideal suggestion is that they needs to develop their own personalize website or make their online modeling portfolio. Both have significant difference in terms of advantage and disadvantage.
Why models required personalize website rather then modeling profile on other models site?
1) You can advertise your name through your personalize domain name. How sweet to remember your website address if it's likes
2) Having your website, you will get your own control over your web page and profile. You do not need to stick or follow others guideline. You will decide which matter you want to highlight and which not.
3) You do not required to pay monthly paid membership charge to modeling website which is recurring regularly. Once you stop paying, your profile will not display on the site. So all your previous investment will lose.
4) You will get rid of useless banner advertisement and Google ad sense from your profile pages. Now it will on your own control. What to show on your website is 100% in your control. So your portfolio gets more proper presentation to casting agency and modeling agency.
5) Casting agency or modeling agency can easily contact you because they do not have to pay anyone else to contact you. They can contact you on our own personalize email address or from your own websites' feedback form.
There are so many website design and development companies have their specialization in models website development. If models are thinking that it's a costly to spent money for website development then they are making big mistake. It's not an expense but it's an investment which is creating your online identity

Discover an Exciting Career in Plus-Size Modeling

Plus-size modeling promotes 'real' body shapes where models wear a size 12+. Their work encompass every aspect of the modeling industry: from fashion shoots and major campaigns promoting products on skin care, make-up and hair products to lingerie and swimsuits.
With over 60% of women being size 12+, curvy models are in demand and plus-size girls now forge fabulous careers and travel the world working for international clients.
** Why consider a career in plus-size modeling? **
Think of the clothes, the fun, the travel and an opportunity to work in a glamorous and exciting industry. Plus, it's really rewarding to represent a new, and more representative, body type where 'phat' has a whole new meaning!
But first thing's first, don't give up your day job. To develop a career and earn a lot of money from modeling you need a great portfolio filled with a diverse range of photographs and tears sheets (pages from a publication you appeared in). Getting your portfolio together can take two years but the experience is worth it.
Plus-size models have the opportunity to work internationally and make a good living. The more successful ones make it their business to work with their model agency Singapore to learn the industry and plan their career. These professionals understand that highly lucrative jobs are scarce and there's fierce competition to win the job. In most cases the client will use the same model for back-to-back campaigns (think Kate Dillon for Marina Rinaldi, Carolyn Murphy for Estée Lauder or Kate Moss for Calvin Klein). The modeling world also revolves around seasons so for many months there can be little or no work.
By learning about the industry models aren't deterred, just realistic. They plan their down time and enjoy the jobs they book when things pick up and opportunities arise.
** What Companies Use Plus-size Models? **
As the population gets curvier, more companies feature bodacious babes in their advertising campaigns and editorials: Ashley Stewart, Marina Renaldi, Delta Burke, Jaclyn Smith, My Size, 1626, Maggie T, Cover Girl, Cosmopolitan, Family Circle, Glamour, Jane, Marie Claire, Cleo, Woman's Day, Chatelaine.
** Success can come when you least expect it **
There are times when you will go to casting after casting and don't book one job. This is usually when new models become discouraged and start re-considering their decision to pursue a plus-size modeling career. Then guess what happens? Persistence pays off and things start falling into place.
It usually takes a good 12 months for models to start booking regular clients. Agents often tell their models that being with a plus-size model agency is a WIP (work in progress). It won't happen over night, but it will happen.
Being professional and prepared at all times and really working at being a plus-size model will make it happen. It sometimes only takes one photograph for the model's career to skyrocket and that's why it's very important to keep testing and trying different photographers to get that 'one' shot that will make all the difference.
Our agency had one model that was doing 'okay' and then had a test shoot with a funky new photographer. This guy got 'the shot' that took her career from strength to strength and she is now working overseas as an international model.
It's an important lesson, modelling isn't just about you. It's a complex collaboration between your agency, the client, photographer, stylist, make-up artist, hair stylist and a whole bunch of other people. Work it to wow!
** Famous plus size models **
When BGM Director, Darrianne Donnelly, started her career she was the lone ranger. Fortunately for you, plus-size models are everywhere from America's Next Top Model to the pages of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
Famous plus-size models include:

· Mia Tyler
· Plus-size superstar, Natalie Wakeling
· Singer, Queen Latifah
· Sophie Dahl
· Barbara Brickner
· Liis Windischmann
· Pippa Jefferys
** Could I be a plus-size model? **
Here's a simple run down of the criteria agencies are looking for:
- Height between 5' 8'' (172cms) and 6"(180cms)
- Wear a US size 12/14 as this is usually the client's sample range
With over 60% of women being size 12+, curvy models are in demand!

Could Your Child Be a Model?

Almost every mom has wondered if her child could become a model. After all, she's cute, loves being photographed, has a great personality and, best of all, looks as good as the kids modeling in catalogs and magazines.

The answer is... maybe.
You see, a cute face and a winning personality are a great start, but they do not guarantee your child's success. Modeling success has as much to do with the parents as the child, because parents must be responsible for supporting their child's career in a variety of ways. For example, you'll need to get your child to a photo shoot on schedule, or the photographer, and often a whole support crew, are unable to complete the shoot. In fact, many top photographers say late arrivals and cancellations are the biggest challenge when working with child models.

Parents also need to be prepared to handle the other responsibilities that are required to help their kid get jobs, such as taking their child to meetings with potential clients, called go-sees, working with the modeling agencies, and acting as chauffeur and therapist for their budding child star.
Still interested? Here's what you need to do to get started:

First, mail in 3 color photos of your kid to the child modeling agencies Singapore. Send a closeup photo of your child's face, called a "head shot," a full-body photo and a photo of your child posing without props. That means no toys, no cute stuffed (or real) animals, no cute costumes or hats. Be sure to include contact information and general information about your child, such as height, weight and age.
Do you need to have a professional photographer take the photos? Again... maybe. Most agencies claim they can spot a kid with potential from non-pro photos, but a talented photographer could spot the "look" that agencies want that you might miss. Another photo tip - kids grow up fast, so it's a good idea to take new photos every 3-6 months to update the agency files.

Child models are used in catalogs, magazines, ads, TV commercials and even "industrial" work, such as training videos for companies, corporate brochures, even in training manuals. When an agency needs a child for these jobs, they go through their files, picking by either age, 7 to 9 or 8-10, for example, or by size, for example a size 5 girl.

It's important to keep in mind that being the parent of a child model is a big investment of time and energy. Parents, mom in particular, need to be sure they can provide that investment to ensure their child's success. For those parents and kids who do have the dedication, the rewards are great in both income and in the self-esteem your child can gain.

Steps to Become a Catalogue Model

If you wish to become a catalogue model and get your picture posted in various different fashion catalogues, there are certain steps that you must take in order to ensure that you are able to enter this field without much ado. First of all, you should know that catalogue models are hired mainly by fashion houses and different designers. However, modeling agencies that wish to release their own catalogues also recruit models for their own catalogues. Secondly, the thing you need to understand here is that you will be posing for still pictures, so depending on the type of pose you give and the quality of the picture taken, your credibility will rise and fall accordingly.

Therefore, it is important that you learn how to pose for still pictures carefully before opting for becoming a directory model. The nature and theme of the catalogue might differ, which is the reason why you should learn how to model on a broader spectrum. Some catalogues are only created for footwear, while others include clothing and head gear. However, for anything that is related to the creation of a catalogue, models are required to portray the dresses and the designs.

Hence, if you have decided to become a commercial model, the first thing that you need to do is to get a nice picture portfolio created. A picture portfolio must be created by your own self, and it should include a variety of different pictures of you modeling in different clothes. The picture portfolio will act as a sort of a resume for people who wish to apply in different modeling agencies. What you will need to do next in order to become a catalogue model is to send your picture portfolio along with your curriculum vitae to different modeling agencies.

If your work is liked by the selectors, you might be recruited for modeling in a catalogue. From then on, all that is left to become a directory model that is successful and popular is the amount of effort and work you put in. In order to become a catalogue archetypal, these steps are very important as they will help you greatly in the future. Rather than going through the hectic process of giving auditions to become a catalogue model, you can simply get a picture portfolio created and sent to different modeling agencies Singapore to get a better chance of achieving success in your quest to become a catalogue model.

All About Fashion Modelling

Fashion modeling is one of the most popular and one of the richest industries in the world at present. Each country has their own fashion trends and designs, and fashion modeling is the art of wearing those designs and displaying them to the girl. Fashion models are professionally trained artists who know how to catwalk and carry themselves gracefully across the ramp. These models are generally selected on the basis of a criterion. This criterion is set by the modeling agency Singapore. Models are regarded as the face of the fashion demonstrating agency. All the clothes that are designed by the designers in a fashion agency are adorned by the models and shown to the world in fashion shows.

The reason why the fashion industry is booming all the time is due to the changes in the fashion trends. Fashion tends to rapidly evolve during the passage of time. People tend to wear different kinds of clothes in winters and in summers, so usually new dresses are introduced in the market whenever a change of season is taking place. However, different fashion agencies tend to introduce different designs, so with the help of fashion modeling techniques, they introduce these designs in the market and showcase them for the general market.

In some fashion shows, general public can attend as well, but usually, only invitees are welcome. Before applying for fashion modeling, you should fulfill a certain list of requirements. These generally range from a slim and a sleek body, as well as a good figure and a pretty outlook. Generally, the majority of the fashion market is focused on women's fashion, as that is the niche in which the larger amount of innovation is allowed. Men's fashion is also increasing in trends and designs, but mainly these are generally restrictive. Secondly, it is a general concept that women are more in to fashion than men, which is why designers usually concentrate their focus on female fashion.

Each country has their own different trends of fashion designs, which is why fashion designs vary from place to place. However, there are some very popular designers that have made a huge name for themselves in the fashion agency. Names such as Versace, Gucci, Louis Vuitton are extremely popular all over the world, and they sell off some of the most expensive dresses. They house both female and male clothing, and have outlets throughout the world in various countries.

How to Be a Model in Singapore?

So you want to be a model? That's great news but being tall, gorgeous and thin is not enough. There are several things you will have to encounter. Making a living as a fashion model is not a piece of cake. I'm not trying to freak you out, but you will have to start early and be focused. Modeling is just a career you can make it big for a short period of time. The moment gravity starts taking its toll you are then out of the business. Hat implies you have to do all you can within the short time you have in the modeling industry as it is in fact not a life long career. Keep reading the following strategies that will help in making your `I want to be a model' dream come true.

Firstly, start at the right age. For ladies, the best age is in their teenage years. Men often start modeling in their twenties. Ladies are also supposed to be 5'8 feet and at least 100 to 125 pounds. Men should at least have a height of 5'11 feet and a body mass falling between 140 and 165 pounds.
Don't just keep saying `I want to be a model' and you are not looking for tasks. Hire modeling agencies that will help you get hired as well as advice you on your appearance, career s well as get your earnings. There are numerous modeling agencies in large cities.

Beware of scammers. The modeling industry is infested with a lot of unscrupulous persons seeking unsuspecting people to expect. It is not often a surprise to get agencies ring to extortion money from you even before hey get you jobs. Other agencies will charge you high commission for heir services. `So you want to be a model? You need costly portfolio and some nude picture? There are bogus photographers and avoid them as well. Modeling is not a dirty game of illicit sex and nudity.

When seeking representation, get a black and white passport photo; measuring 8.5 by 11 inches. The photo should be professionally made. The photo should have just a plain background. Since you want to show your figure, wear a swimsuit or any other clothes that will display your figure instead taking nude photos.

Search for open casting calls held by different agencies. If there are some auditions being held and there are no open casting calls allowed, you can request the casting crew whether you can just stop by and introduce yourself. This can be a great way to gain extra experience.

Participate in the model searches. The fees differ from one person to another. You also don't want to burn a large hole in your pocket trying to invest a modeling role although it will help taking you to the limelight in the industry.

Attend as many modeling conventions as you can afford. The events are mostly costly but at the same time they allow you a better chance to meet with a wide range of dignitaries in the profession such as modeling agents and prospective clients. You will also gain some essential tips of making it in the industry.
